Chicago in 1956, the Grimes sisters aged 15 and 12 would vanish when returning from a movie theatre. The inseparable sisters were huge Elvis Presley fans and had been at the theatre that night to see Love Me Tender. After the credits rolled at the end they would head home, but they would never get there. This would spark the largest missing persons enquiry in Chicago’s history and would even see one of the most famous stars in the world at that time making a personal plea on TV and Radio.
The murder of the Grimes Sisters has been described by authors as “The crime that shattered the innocence of Chicago.”
